AGRESIS APPROACH IN WNBPA CBA negotiations

The Women's National Basketball Players Association now sees the time to make a new collective bargaining agreement.
Wnbpa came out of CBA in the autumn last autumn, so both sides at the time of a new agreement. The end of the agreement is October 31.
WNBPA Executive Director Terri Carmichael Jackson promised that the union would take an extremely aggressive approach to make a new agreement.
According to the pre -office sports, Jackson said, “Our discussions, suggestions – plural – and aggressive in terms of our meeting program.” He said. “This is a group of projects. We are making a part of us and we hope that the league has seen the opportunity to work for these milestones, to work for significant progress – this is not just a hunting – it is working to complete until October 31st.”
WNBA players want to see an increase in salaries – the maximum is currently $ 249.244 – and advanced benefits. The existing system also limits a team's possible replacement options when a player releases birth leave.
Jackson refused to exclude a possible stop. WNBPA Vice President Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier also has.
“As WNBA players, we have the most leverage we have so far and we should use it to our advantage.” He said. “The time of change is right now.”
The league hopes that a job will never happen.
“With WNBPA, we are determined to work on a new CBA, which is fair for all parties and laids the foundation of growth and success in the coming years.” He said.
Of course, the announcement of an 11 -year media rights agreement worth $ 2.2 billion last summer will certainly be a major part of the negotiations. This annual compensation of $ 200 million has led to the union's decision to deactivate the current agreement.
“We left early to continue things.” He said. “We use time for our advantage. We hope the league sees this way.”
