Nathan Mackinnon of Colorado broke a tie in the middle of the third period in which Dallas scored his own goal, and the avalanche was defeated 7-4 in Denver on Thursday to push Game 7 in the Western Conference quarter-final series.

Stars defender Lian Bichel lost an advantage while fighting Jack Drury and sliding harshly on the 2: 18 boards in the second period.
