According to Sky Sports News, Jasprit Bumrah reportedly removed himself from running to become the next test captain of India. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant appeared as the best candidates instead of Rohit Sharma, who recently retired from the test jack. Although Bumrah is common as a favorite of the role, it is understood that selections can not commit to playing all of the five matches in long test series due to workload concerns. While India is preparing to play five tests against England, it is said that selections prefer someone who can play consistently the entire series.

As Bumrah leaves the race, the selections will probably choose between gills and pants for the captain. Which player is not selected as a captain, is expected to be called the assistant captain. The official announcement for India’s team for England is expected until May 24.

In another major development, Sky Sports News reported that Virat Kohli was aware of the decision to retire from the test jack in front of the UK series approaching the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI). Although the BCCI did not publish a public statement, they did not refuse the report, according to Sky Sports News.

It is understood that Kohli describes the choice of the choice of agit agrices in April before the New World Test Championship cycle began in June. They planned to meet again with Agarkar and another BCCI official Kohli, but this meeting is now uncertain because of the increasing tensions on the Indian-Pakistan border. The government advised citizens against intercity travels.
