Kings Name Ken Holland General Manager

Los Angeles Kings chose new general managers Ken Holland on Wednesday.
Terms were not explained. Holland replaced Rob Blake, which was fired by the club after eight seasons last week.
“While making our efforts, we defined Ken as the best option and acted decisively to make it our general manager,” Kings President Luc Robitaille said in a statement. He said. “The registry of success is undeniable and after his speeches with him, we believed that he is the right person for us at the moment. He has the experience of taking us to win us now and help us compete for the Stanley Cup.”
69-year-old Holland was the GM of Red Wings from 1997-98 to 2018-19, while Detroit seized the Stanley Cup in 1998, 2002 and 2008. He was also the team’s assistant GM during the Stanley Cup run in 1997.
Recently, the Netherlands was the GM of Oiles from 2019-20 to 2023-24. Last season, Edmonton lost to Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup final, and then Holland left the team with a mutual agreement.
In 2020, Holland entered the Hockey Honor List as the “Builder”. As a goalkeeper, he had a short play career: a game with Hartford Whalers in 1980-81 and three with Red Wings in 1983-84. Holland went to 0-2-1 with an average of 4.96 goals and a percentage of savings.
Los Angeles took second place in the Pacific Department this season and 48-25-9 (105 points). Coach Jim Hiller has a record of 69-37-10 in one and a half season.
