India is engaged in a military conflict with Pakistan, and for the same reason, the IPL 2025 has been suspended for a week. Players from all teams, including the foreigners, have started returning to their homes, in the expectation that things would get better soon. Now, as per a fresh report, KKR pacer Umran Malik, who hails from Jammu, has been advised to stay back in Hyderabad.
It is important to note that KKR was in Hyderabad for their next fixture against SRH, on May 10. But of course the match won’t happen on the given date. Coming back to Umran, although he was ruled out of the tournament, but was travelling with the team, under the “return to cricket” programme.
As per AajKaal, Umran Malik’s family has advised him not to come back for some time, due to intense shelling in the state by Pakistani forces. Meanwhile, a new schedule is expected to be announced soon by the BCCI, with a few venues in East and South of India being considered.
Once again, an official word on the same is yet to come. In one of the matches on May 8 — PBKS vs DC — the match had to stopped abruptly, due to a major security threat. That match, since incomplete, will be played again, once the IPL 2025 resumes. As far as his record in IPL is concerned, in 26 matches he has picked up 29 wickets, and in the last two years has hardly played, on account of injuries.
