Kl Rahul explains the reason behind the ‘war -like’ celebration after RCB vs DC IPL Clash

Everyone thought that the RCB would do anything to sign Kl Rahul at the IPL 2025 auction. However, they only made a single bid and saw that they went to DC for RS 14 Crore.
KL Rahul lit up the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday night—not just with the bat, but with a celebration that made headlines across the cricketing world. After finishing off the chase with a towering six, the Bengaluru-born batter raised his bat like a sword, thumped his chest, and pointed to the ground. It was cold, calculated, and oozed intent. The roar from the crowd was instant. So was the curiosity—what was Rahul trying to say?

KL Rahul explains the reason behind his celebration
“This is a special place for me,” Rahul told the Delhi Capitals media team after the game. “That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, yeah, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this home, this turf is where I have grown up and this is mine.”
It was a fitting tribute. Much like Kantara, a film rooted in identity and belonging, Rahul’s celebration was a reminder of where he comes from. While many believed he might don the RCB colours this season, it was Delhi Capitals who snapped him up for Rs 14 crore—and they’re getting full value.

93 reasons for KL Rahul to celebrate!
Chasing 164, DC were reeling at 10/2 when Rahul walked in. What followed was a masterclass. He absorbed the pressure early, anchored the innings, and then shifted gears, dismantling RCB’s bowling at the death. His unbeaten 93 off 57 balls included a game-breaking assault on Hazlewood and a final flourish off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
