In a unique attempt to increase the physical and mental health of the prisoners, the prison Premier League was held on the Math Prison on the Indian Premier League (IPL) lines. The Cricket Tournament was held at the prison building and many prisoners participated in the event. According to Prison Director Anshuman Garg, the main purpose of organizing the Prison Premier League was to give prisoners some moments of freedom in the prison’s “walled” life.
“This is the purpose of today’s walled life, some moments will give a feeling of freedom. This is not only a last match, a victory of hope, a race of trust. The ground is the same, but the players have changed – today every run, every capture, every win … Attempting to prove itself again,” he said.
The Prison Premier League started in April 2025 and eight teams from various barracks of Mathura prison were founded among the prisoners. Two groups of four teams were established, where a total of 12 league matches and two semi -final games were played between them. The last match of the tournament was played between the capitals and knight riders, where the knight riders were victorious.

“A total of 8 teams were established in the prison Premier League competition among the prisoners in April 2025. There were 8 teams from prison in the league. There were 4 teams in the group and 4 teams in the group. A total of 12 league matches and 2 semi-final matches were played. The last matches were played in a wild way. Anshuman Garg, Knight Riders team.
Kaushal, a prisoner, was called the actor and player of the series, while Pancaging and Frura won purple and orange covers respectively.
