Leave it now! Andre Russell’s IPL 2025 campaign goes from bad

Andre Russell, while chasing in the last nine IPL Inning, is only 15.7 compared to its standards.
Andre Russell’s IPL 2025 season has hit rock bottom—and it’s time for KKR to act. The all-rounder, once the heartbeat of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), now looks like a shadow of his former self. In the high-pressure clash against Gujarat Titans, Russell once again failed to deliver, scoring 21 off 15 before being stumped off a Rashid Khan googly. While the strike rate of 140 looks decent on paper, the innings lacked purpose, execution, and timing—three things that once defined Russell’s presence at the crease.
High risk, no reward: Andre Russell
The dismissal was symptomatic of a larger issue: he looked lost, swinging wildly, missing repeatedly, and ultimately getting out in a tame, almost predictable fashion. With just 55 runs in 6 innings and a strike rate under 120, Russell has offered neither runs nor the fear factor that once made him undroppable.

KKR, currently 7th on the points table, cannot afford to carry passengers. Their campaign is hanging by a thread, and with every game becoming a virtual knockout, reputations must take a back seat. This is a franchise that moved on from a title-winning captain in Shreyas Iyer—there’s no reason Andre Russell should be treated any differently.
