IOC approved the T20 jack for LA 2028 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially confirmed that the T20-format cricket will be included in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic games. The IOC Executive Board approved the event program and athlete quotas for the 2028 Olympics on Wednesday, including the addition of crickets in T20 format.
According to the approval, six teams will participate in each category, both male and female T20 tournaments will be held. Each team will consist of 15 players and will allow a total of 90 crickets to compete in the Olympic Games.
While the decision to include a jack is finalized, certain places and program for matches have not yet been identified.
Cricket is one of the five new sports approved to be included in the 2028 Olympics. The other four sports are baseball/volleyball, flag football, Lakros (Sixes format) and zucchini. Two years ago, IOC had pre -approval to include these sports.
Since the sport has not been located for more than a century, this shows an important return on the Olympic scene for the Cricket. The last and only Olympic Griet match was held during the 1900 Paris games, when the Great Britain and France played a two -day match.
Los Angeles is expected to be involved in the 2028 Olympics, the sport will increase the visibility of the sport on the global stage and to have potentially existence in other major international events.
