‘Non -compliance with symbolism’: Yorgos Lanthimos rejected the permission of shooting new movies in Acropolis | Film
Greece’s leading contemporary director demanded that his country’s new film in Acropolis in Athens, rejected by the Ministry of Culture.
In April, Yorgos Lanthimos demanded filming the scenes of Science Fiction Comedy Bugonia on the fifth century BC site. However, on Thursday, the Ministry of Culture said that the permission was rejected, because “the proposed scenes are incompatible with symbolism… And the values represented by the acropolies”.
