Mikaela Shiffrin joined the ownership group of NWSL Denver

Ski Star and Colorado Native Mikaela Shiffin, the National Women’s Football League, Denver’s expansion team joined the ownership group.
“I am excited to join the ownership group of Denver NWSL and support a very meaningful thing in the society I call home.” He said.
Two times the Olympic Gold Medal and five times the General World Cup champion, 101 Career World Cup victories are the most fancy Alpine skipers in history.
NWSL chose Denver as the 16th team in January. Still named franchise owners paid an $ 110 million expansion fee and will start playing in 2026.
“Michael’s excellence, global influence and deep Colorado roots make him an excellent contribution to our ownership group,” team owner Rob Cohen said. He said. “We are building a purposeful club, and on this journey, Mikaela’s vision and voice will be invaluable.”
Shiffrin, born in Vail, won the gold medal at Slalom in the 2014 winter games in Sochi and in the giant slalom in the giant slalom in Pyeongchang four years later.
“The sports culture in Colorado is rich and deep, and most importantly – the growth of women’s sports is one of the most exciting movements of our culture today.” He said.
“To be a part of this and helping to bring professional women’s football to Colorado is not only an incredible investment opportunity, but also an honor and joy.”
Shiffrin’s former Olympic team Lindsey Vonn is an investor in NWSL’s Utah Royals FC.
