Monaco GP offers large US ratings despite its part criticism

Monaco Grand Prix gave its third largest Formula 1 audience in the United States despite the heavy criticism of the iconic course after the race on Sunday.
The race started at 9 am and the Monaco Grand Prix attracted 2.3 million viewers at ABC. To draw more viewers, single F1 races were 2024 (3.1 million) per pre -office sports and 2022 (2.6 million) Miami Grand Prix. This year’s Monaco race brought more US viewers than Miami (2.1 million) at the beginning of this month.
During the seven races in 2025, F1 has an average of 1.3 million viewers. Although the first half of the year included popular Miami and Monaco activities, each of the last two seasons was an average of 1.1 million an average.
F1 signed an extension last year with Monaco until 2031. However, despite F1’s experiment, which required teams to make at least two pit stops, the Sunday’s race had a great first 10.
When McLaren’s Lando Norris had to take the second necessary pit stop in the previous round from the Red Bull star, he won the event from the pole, although he crossed Max Verstappen in the second-last round. This was widespread from drivers and fans, but defended the change of the rules of the F1 CEO Stefano Domenicalali.
Domejali told Sky Sports F1, “We know that the width of the street is (limited) and the cars are quite large, so it is to pay attention to it.” He said.
He continued: “Everyone thought that they should stop in the first round (making a pit), and it was great to see too much discussion, so no one understood anything exactly. I think this was the right initiative and attention was absolutely there.”
No decision was made as to whether the two stops would return for 2026, but the Domenici race returned to the critics of the race.
“Monaco activity was incredible,” he said. “We didn’t have so many people, we didn’t have so many boats, we didn’t have so much attention. This means that the event itself wanted Formula 1 and that is really great.”
