Since the social media company expands its assurances under the age of 18 to Facebook and Messenger platforms, it expands the security measures for young people on Instagram with a block.
Under the age of 16 will be prevented from using Instagram’s vibrant feature unless there is a parent permission. It will also need a parent permission to turn off a feature that directly blurred images that contain suspicious nudity in their messages.
The changes were announced in addition to extending Instagram’s young account system to Facebook and Messenger. Young accounts were introduced last year, and by default, it was placed in an environment with the ability to determine daily time limits to use the application to parents under the age of 18, prevent young people from using Instagram at certain times, and see the ability to see their children exchanging messages.
Facebook and Messenger young accounts will initially be presented in the USA, England, Australia and Canada. As with Instagram accounts, users under 16 years of age will need a parent permission to change the settings, and will be able to change new features that are 16 and 17 -year -old.
Meta said that Instagram young accounts are used 54 million under the age of 18 worldwide, and more than 90% of 13-15 years of age maintains the default restrictions.
NSPCC, a leading child protection aid organization, welcomed the expansion of the measures to Facebook and Messenger, but said that he should do more work to prevent harmful materials on the platforms of Meta.

The announcement was made while implementing the British Online Security Law. Since March, every site and application covered by Facebook, Google and X to Reddit and Onlyfans should take steps to stop the emergence of illegal content such as child sexual abuse, fraud and terrorism material, or if it becomes online.
The law also contains provisions to protect children from damage and requires technology platforms to protect those under the age of 18 from damaging materials such as suicide and self -harmful content.
