Mumbai Indians have emerged as the best fielding side so far in IPL 2025. The standards of fielding, in terms of dropped catches and missed run outs, have fallen in the ongoing season when compared to the previous editions. All 10 teams have had their own struggles on the field but CSK stands out as they find themselves yet again at the bottom of the table, this time in terms of the fielding efficiency of teams in IPL 2025.
MI on top, CSK polar opposite
As per Cricbuzz, MI are the most efficient fielding unit so far in IPL 2025. Hardik Pandya and co. have dropped just 8 catches and enjoy a catching percentage of 83.6%. However, the team has missed 24 run outs while also boasting of 14 misfields. MI’s record in terms of run-outs improved after the last over heroics in the game against DC where they managed to run out 3 batters.
At the bottom of the table, like it is on the points table, are CSK. The five-time champions have dropped 16 catches – most by any team in this season. They have 26 misfields to their name along with 13 missed run-out chances. Dhoni and co. have paid the price for their poor efforts on the fields in multiple games.
