Colorado Rapids exchanged Midfielder Omir Fernandez for $ 200,000 in exchange for a general allocation money to Portland Timbers on Friday.
If Colorado also meets certain performance metrics for Fernandez Portland, the conditional will receive another $ 50,000 in the 2026 Gam.

26-year-old Fernandez came from the New York Red Bulls’ development system and played in 112 normal season matches for senior teams between 2019-23. Before the 2024 season, he signed with Rapids as a free agent.
In 153 matches (78 beginnings), Fernandez collected 17 goals and 13 assists. He has no target and two assists in eight games in 2025.
Rapids President Padraig Smith said in a statement, “We are grateful to Omir when he spent with the club and we do not want anything other than the best in the future.” He said.
