New Zealand Coach who won the former Champions Cup passed away in 77

Former New Zealand Cricket coach David Trist, who took the black caps in 2000 ICC knockout (now Champions Cup) to hymen global titles, passed away at the age of 77 years old.

For Canterbury, a former paced Bowling was coached with tips in South Africa, Hong Kong and the Netherlands before Trist Rixon seized the national side in 1999. As the chief coach of New Zealand, his term of office lasted only two years, but the Trist left a permanent legacy.
Under his guidance, the black caps were defeated India in the final and took the ICC knockout in Nairobi-Kcairns, sealed the win in a century. This remained the only ICC victory for New Zealand before defeating India in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) in 2021, led by Kane Williamson.
Trist, who was sent to his international coaching career, joined Christchhurch as the coaching director at the former College Cricket Club and also contributed to his expertise in India and England. New Zealand Cricket paid him tribute to his family and friends that he wished his condolences to his family and friends.

In other coaching developments, Gary Stead’s nearly seven -year spell as the Black Caps’s head coach ends. Stead, who had previously resigned from New Zealand’s white ball coaching tasks, was not interviewed for any future role, which reached a possible end of one of the most successful sections of the team’s coaching history.
Under the leadership of Stead, New Zealand reached the finals of both the 2019 and 2021 Cricket World Cups (ODI and T20 Formats) and won the opening World Test Championship.
Now, the New Zealand Crick Cricket, to be released from Stead, interviewed a group of competitors to take over: former Bowling coaches Shane Bond and the current coach Luke Ronchi and South Africa’s last white ball coach Rob Walter
