NHL sets the participation record, exceeds 23 million fans

In 2024-25, more than 23 million fans participated in a NHL normal season match in 2024-25, which is the highest sum of the league’s 108-year history.

The league said on Friday, a total of 23,014,458 people participated in the game in 1,312 match season. This relieves the previous 22.873.142 record determined last season.

In addition to the home spaces of 32 teams, NHL played Winter Classic in Wrigley Field in Chicago, Ohio Stadium in Columbus and Prague, Czechia and Tampere, Global Series in Finland. A total of 94,571 fans attended the game at Ohio Stadium and pointed to the second largest meeting in the history of NHL.

Montreal Canadiens, which was fueled by 41 Selout in Bell Center, continued with 865,305 fans of all clubs.
