No accusation of EX-NHL player Adam Johnson ’23 death

British prosecutors said on Tuesday that their former NHL player Adam Johnson will not accuse the man arrested in 2023 deaths.
29 -year -old Johnson died shortly after his neck was cut by a skating knife. The police in South Yorkshire, England arrested a man on suspicion of murder two weeks later.
Between 2018-20, Pittsburgh Penguins and Johnson, who took place in 13 games, played for Nottingham Panthers of the distinguished hockey league when it occurred in the second period of a game on October 28, 2023.
The police did not detect the man they arrested, but Sheffield Steler’s defender Matt Petgrave was confused with Johnson. Petgrave, 32, described himself in an objection that financed crowded to help legal wages.
On Tuesday, the Crown Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that he decided not to impose criminal charges.
“CPS and Southern Yorkshire police, the other relevant ice hockey player against any penalty against the CPS and South Yorkshire player worked together to determine.” He said.
“Following a comprehensive examination of a comprehensive police investigation and a comprehensive examination of all evidence made by CPS, there is no possibility of a realistic conviction for any criminal offense, and therefore there will be no prosecution.
Johnson received emergency treatment on ice and was taken to Sheffield’s North General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Johnson, born in Minnesota, scored a goal and three assists with the penguins.
Following the tragedy, the British Ice Hockey Association required all players to wear neck guards since the beginning of 2024.
