‘One of the best I’ve ever seen,’ Yashasvi Jaiswal is happy to play the second violin to the incredible Vaibhav Syria

Jaiswal played a vital hand to be 4th in the Orange Cap leader table.

Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his rich vein of form in IPL 2025 on Monday. The Rajasthan Royals opener smashed a fine hand in Jaipur, to go past 400 runs in the season. Jaiswal, played second fiddle in RR’s 3rd win of the season, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi starring with a century. The 23-year-old was in awe of the 14-year-old’s talents and backed him to make more runs in the future.

‘He played amazing shots’, Jaiswal in awe after Suryavanshi show

Jaiswal is one of the finest openers in the IPL this season but the left-hander had little to do on Monday. His partner, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, teed off to the point of no return, scoring a record-breaking century. In an opening partnership of 166, Vaibhav smashed 101 off 37 balls in an absolute mayhem. The teenage prodigy took an attack of international pedigree, with no Gujarat Titans bowler escaping the punishment.

Speaking after the game, Yashasvi Jaiswal credited the teenager’s incredible talent and ability.

“Incredible innings, one of the best I’ve seen. Hope he’ll keep doing it for us for a long time. I was just telling him to keep going. He was incredible today. He just played amazing shots. He works hard in the nets, we can see that. He has the game, he has the temperament and mentality. Wish him all the luck, and he should do well,” Jaiswal said after the RR vs GT game.

Jaiswal’s own merry IPL 2025 continues

While Suryavanshi’s heroics stole the show, Yashavi Jaiswal himself continued his purple patch in IPL 2025. In his last 7 games, Jaiswal has 5 half-centuries and a 49, becoming an integral cog in the Royals’ struggling batting unit. Now a senior player, the 23-year-old was constantly in the ear of Suryavanshi, guiding him through his onslaught. His unbeaten 60 took him to 4th in the race for the IPL 2025 Orange Cap, behind Sai Sudharsan, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav.
