Opera is still seen as elitists for many people. How do you convince someone to try it?
The first thing I say is, you don’t have to like it. It’s not really superior. Most people I know are not opera intervention, and they just come because I drift them, but they tend to respond well. I was lucky enough to work in every opera house section, and I was lucky to see people’s hands as embroidery or building sets or resources in dying fabrics in the barrels. These things will never go. You studied modern languages at the university. Did this help?
