Patriots DC Terrell Williams ‘Medical Status’

Chief coach Mike Vrabel told journalists on Friday, after New England Patriots’ defense coordinator Terrell Williams away from the team because of the “medical situation” in the rookie minicamp.

Vrabel did not share any details that 50 -year -old Williams is dealing with the health problem or the team is expected to turn face to face. ESPN said on Friday that Williams has not been in the team for about a month.

Vrabel is in contact with players and coaching staff through Zoom, and Williams is expected to talk to journalists on Friday later through Zoom.

Vrabel will not put a time schedule on Williams’ return, “I constantly communicate with him every day,” he said. “Terrell is enthusiastic to go back and we’re excited to take it back.”

Williams is the defense coordinator with Patriots, Patriots, the first season of Vrabel in his first season. Between 2018-23, he was the staff of Tennessee Titans and Vrabel’s staff and graduated as head coach and defense line coach. Williams served as the Defense Line Coach/Running Game Coordinator for Detroit Lions last season.

Williams coached the defense line for Miami Dolphins (2015-17) after their university duties as an assistant in Texas A&M, PurDie, Acon and other schools.

In his absence, Williams’ responsibilities are handled by LineBackers coach Zak Kuhr, a New York Giants defense assistant last season. Kuhr also spent time in various positions with Titans between Vrabel and 2020-23.

“Zak has great information about what we are doing with me and Terrell in the past, in the past, with me and this system and Terrell.” He said.
