Popular Australian podcasters instructed BCCI to remove IPL videos from Youtube

A “Polite Legal Letter” from BCCI encouraged the creators of a popular Australian podcast to take over “each video” about their ongoing Premier League on the Indian Premier League. Sam Perry and Ian Higgins, who hosted the class cricket, received a legal notification from BCCI and IPL at the weekend. “You may have noticed that every video in our field of scope of this year’s Cricket tournament, Youtube shorts, Facebook, Instagram and X,” Perry said on Monday. He said.
“This is something we do ourselves, we did not make us, we removed these videos. On Saturday evening, we received a very polite legal letter about the elements of our content from the Cricket tournament we talked to with you about this season.
“As a result, we decided to download these videos.”
According to a report in ‘Sydney Morning Herald’, the legal notification was about the claims that the class cricket player IPL videos contained photographs that were thought to have been used for ‘commercial’ rather than ‘editorial’ purposes from the tournament. It should be noted that IPL has clearly demonstrated that the sound and videos they provide under the media consultancy are only for editorial use.
All IPL media consultants are read “The media’s press conference is allowed to use the video/voice on relevant websites or mobile applications. Publication conference video/audio, youtube, Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly called twitter) can not be uploaded to social media platforms, not limited to them.”
Both Perry and Higgins are scheduled to travel to India for several live shows this week.
“It is very important to state that we will continue to publish the scope of the tournament. In fact, it will be more in the next few weeks because we are going to India.” He said.
“However, our approach to content is consistent for five years, now we understand better what is not collected and what is not collected.” The class cricket player produces a daily show called ‘Big IPL Breakfast’ and will be renamed following the development.
“We are planning to change its name for breakfast of the Great Cricket Tournament.” He said.
