Prabhsimran Singh adds consistency to carnage, slams another 50
Prabhsimran Singh took the Delhi Capitals attack to the cleaners in yet another show of brute strength at Dharamsala on Thursday. The 24-year-old opener has formed a swashbuckling opening partnership with Priyansh Arya at the top of the order for Punjab Kings. The duo stitched 122 runs in just 10 overs, taking the likes of Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav on.
Prabhsimran Singh was always known for his power hitting at the top of the order. This season, he has added consistency to his game. The 24-year-old now smashed his 4th consecutive 50 in IPL, becoming the first uncapped Indian player to do so. Before the PBKS vs DC game, Singh had scores of 83, 54 and 91 in the last 3 games.
India’s T20 stocks are at an all-time high, but Prabhsimran Singh is making a case for himself to be in the national set-up. The 24-year-old is 6th in the Orange Cap race, with 487 runs in 12 games. His strike rate of 170.87 and average of 44.27 align him with India’s T20 dynamic. His strike rate is the highest among players with more than 450 runs in IPL 2025.
With Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul out of India’s T20 plans and Sanju Samson struggling with injury, a window could open for Prabhsimran.
