Rafael Devers rejected Red Sox’s request to play the first base

Boston Red Sox Hit star Rafael Devers said in a statement on Thursday that the team management would not play the first base after the disappearance of a knee injury during the season.
After signing the team Alex Bregman as his third third master in Offseason, Devers serves as a striker who was appointed. Devers, the manager Alex Cora, began to play third in spring education until it clearly states that it would be DH.
Speaking after Boston’s 5-0 victory against Texas Rangers on Thursday, Devers now intends not to play on the field.
“I know I’m a ball player, but they can’t expect me to play every position there,” Devers said through a interpreter. “They talked to me in spring education and basically told me to leave the glove.
Devers said he was approaching him with the suggestion of Craig Breslow, the Red Sox Chief Baseball Office.
Defers, who never played the first base, answered with a different solution: Do a trade.
“Now, they should do their jobs essentially and hit the market and look for another player.” He said. “I’m not sure why they want me to be among them. The next thing you know, someone outside hurts and wants me to play outside. I know a kind of player I am and I stand here.”
Boston currently uses Romy Gonzalez and Abraham Toro as the first basic filling.
Devers said that Breslow, a member of a help jug for 12 big league season and Boston, a member of the 2013 World series winning team, should understand the situation.
“He played ball. I want to think that changing positions are not easy.” He said. “They put me in this situation. They told me they didn’t want to play other positions.”
28 -year -old Devers, this season for the whole of 39 matches was appointed by Red Sox. He hit the sixth Homer of the campaign on Thursday. He hits .255 with 25 RBI.
However, even after the attack contributions on Thursday, Devers was a testy about the situation.
“They told me I’m a little hard -headed, but they already wanted me to change once. I don’t think I can be flexible this time.” He said. “I don’t feel loyal to your words. They told me that I would play this position – DH. Now they’re going back to it.”
Spring education interest, entered the eve of the normal season and Cora finally said it was the best for the team. This Bregman was the third master and Devers as DH.
The past performance supported Cora. Bregman won the American League Golden Gold for Houston Astros last season, while Devers took Al to mistakes by a third master for the seventh straight season.
Devers has 206 Homer and 663 RBI in eight plus seasons, all with Boston.
