Ramandeep Singh gets ax as Drops holding 4 Crore for Ajinkya Rahane DC vs Kkr

Ramandeep Singh was left out again, Anukul Roy DC vs Kkr came.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane continued to leave out Ramandeep Singh from the KKR lineup in IPL 2025. The DC vs KKR marked the second successive game where the finisher failed to make it to the XI. The Punjab all-rounder was retained for Rs 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 Auction, but now finds himself on the fringes with Anukul Roy coming in on Tuesday.
Kolkata Knight Riders XI: 1 Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), 2 Sunil Narine, 3 Venkatesh Iyer, 4 Ajinkya Rahane, 5 Rinku Singh, 6 Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 7 Andre Russell, 8 Rovman Powell, 9 Harshit Rana, 10 Anukul Roy, 11 Varun Chakravarthy
Ramandeep Singh struggles, Rahane opts for Roy
Ramandeep Singh played a pivotal role in KKR’s 2024 title triumph. Such was his heroics, the Punjab all-rounder earned an India call-up. However, Ramandeep has failed to conjure similar performances this year. In 8 matches in IPL 2025, Singh has scored a total of 30 runs, striking at a measly 115.38.
The KKR star’s role doesn’t allow him to score a mountain of runs. He is their finisher, charged with getting quick boundaries and cameos. The 27-year-old struck at 201.61 last season, striking a boundary in less than 5 balls on average. This year, that rate has gone over 7. With KKR struggling to get wins, Ramandeep got the axe.
KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane brought in Rovman Powell last game, with the former West Indian captain a powerful hand in the middle order. On Tuesday, Rahane opted for all-rounder Anukul Roy. The left-hander is a handy bat and can chip in with left-arm spin, if the surface aids turn in Delhi. With Andre Russell also in the ranks, the defending champions are well stocked in the finishing department.
