Rangers twice in the cup winner in Mike Sullivan Reel

Mike Sullivan is the new coach of New York Rangers.

In 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, Sullivan took Pittsburgh Penguins to the Stanley Cup championship one after the other.

“Mike Sullivan founded himself as one of the leading coaches of NHL,” Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury ended on Friday. He said. “Throughout his coaching career-two Stanley Cup and the leading team at the international level, including countless successes, Mike brings a championship level behind the bench.”

Sullivan replaced Peter Laviolette, who was expelled on April 19 after he could not make New York's Stanley Cup playoffs. Penguins rejected Sullivan nine days later as they reached three consecutive campaigns for penguins.

Drury said Pittsburgh's decision was for the benefit of Rangers.

“When we started this process and Mike has become an existing option for us to talk to us, it was clear that it was the best coach to lead our team.” He said.

Sullivan, 57, spent Four Seasons (2009-13) as an assistant coach for Rangers under John Tercorella. The two worked in the US team staff in the match of the last 4 countries.

He worked as a Marshfield, Mass., Native Sullivan, 2003-04 and 2005-06 seasons as the head coach of Boston Bruins and hired by Penguins in the middle of 2015-16 season. His first two staff in Pittsburgh came second in the Metropolitan Department, but each time he continued to catch the Stanley Cup and defeated San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators.
