Rohit Sharma got Mumbai Indians the perfect start in their IPL 2025 Eliminator against Gujarat Titans on Friday. With a host of overseas stars missing, MI needed their Hit-Man to fire in Mullanpur. Rohit responded to that call in style, breaching the 7k mark in IPL, joining Virat Kohli with a fine half-century.

Rohit Sharma paired up with Jonny Bairstow to give MI their best powerplay of the IPL 2025 season. Rohit was lucky early in his innings and made merry of those reprieves with some vintage hits. The 38-year-old played anchor to Bairstow before smashing Sai Kishore in the final over of the powerplay.

Rohit then took the attack to Rashid Khan to reach another milestone. Having made 43, Rohit breached the 7000-run mark in IPL cricket. The Mumbai Indians legend is only the second player to reach that milestone, with Virat Kohli being the other. He eventually reached his half-century in the 10th over, setting a perfect platform for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 eliminator.
