Sidney Crosby will compete for the first time in the World Championship since '15

Penguins said on Sunday, Pittsburgh Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby will compete for Canada at the IIHF World Championship this month.

This will be Crosby's third place in the world, and since 2015, the first Crosby competed for the Canadian team in 2006.

In general, this will be a member of the prestigious “Triple Gold Club” that shows a Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold Medal and a World Championship winning player for the ninth time for the Canadian team.

Crosby has cup titles in 2009, '16 and ', gold medals between 2010 and '14 and a world title in 2015.

When Crosby won a gold medal in the match of 4 countries in February, he tied his skate in the international game as a captain for the Canadian team.

20-year-old NHL veteran, 34-36-12 records of the playoffs missed Penguins for a 91-point season (33 goals) completed.

This year's World Championship will take place on 9-25 May in Herning, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden. Canada opens against Slovenia on May 10th.

Penguens Hockey Operations President Kyle Dubas will join Crosby by serving as the General Manager of Canada Team.
