Cricket, which made its only appearance in the Olympics in the Paris Games in 1900, was included in the Los Angeles Olympics program after the 141th session of the International Olympic Committee in October 2023.
Cricket participated in five new sports, including baseball/volleyball, flag football, Lakros (six) and Squash in LA28.
The T20 format, known as a tool for the growth of the game by ICC, has been involved in other multiple sports events in recent years.
While the Asian games in 2010, 2014 and 2023 presented both male and female T20 competitions, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games organized a women’s competition.
