The revival of Stephen Bunting continued with a victory of 8-5 against Nathan Aspinall in the Open International Darts Final to demand his second title on German territory within four days.

“People were writing me, I knew I was playing well in the Premier League. I felt it was just a matter of time, but the harder it was. The Premier League was a big catalyst for what I did in the last few days.
“I know I’m moved to 4 no. 4 for me. I will just continue to play. ‘I’m a grave -proof, losing, fire, fire, I’m getting away’ – what I’m about to do with it. I always find a way with thick and thin. Fortunately, I was about to find a way in this final.
“Fortunately, I got a win against Nathan and I continued to win the night in Berlin, it was absolutely very nice. I came here after it, it was high and I continued to win it. This is very special. Tonight will have to have another picture in bed, right?!”
Aspinall: I’m steamed
Aspinall told PDC TV: “Steam is over. My arm is definitely … Stephen owed me too much credit, the first Premier League title and the European title I helped me win!
“I made a final in 10 years until two weeks ago and I made the finals in a row, so I’m proud of myself. My arm is definitely … Yes!”
