The power produced from the World Movement through its own magnetic field

In 1832, the famous British physicist Michael Faraday carried out a series of experiments designed to answer a punishing question: Can Elektrik be produced through the rotation of the Earth through its own magnetic field?

Interesting probability is caused by the fact that the magnetic field of the Earth does not return like a physical object with the Earth. Instead, it is formed at any time and remains constant in space. The thought at that time was perhaps that the Movement of the Earth through him could produce power.

However, Faraday’s experiments were a failure, and a few years later, physicists found the cause. Any movement of a conductor from this magnetic field indeed produces a force on the electrons inside. However, this force redistributes the electrons by producing another area that fully cancels the effect of the original. So if the whole power -producing circuit lies in the field, nothing happens.

However, Christopher Chyba at the University of Princeton at New Jersey and his colleagues has a gap in this reasoning. In 2016, they assumed that magnetic fields changed almost instantly in conductor material.

However, in some “soft” magnetic materials, changes in the field spread more slowly. And when this happens, it may be possible to use the effect to produce power using carefully shaped geometries.

Now Chyba and Co have shown that such a conductor can produce electrical energy directly from the return of the Earth through his own magnetic field.

Experiments are relatively simple. It turns out that a geometry that needs to work is a cylindrical shell connected to a circuit. They put in a cylindrical shell of manganese-cinko ferrites and a large flashlight as a “soft” magnetic material with the necessary magnetic diffusion.

When the theories are directed perpendicular to the world movement, the shell predicts that several microvolts and associated current – power. When the shell is rotated 90 degrees, it falls to zero, so it is parallel to the world movement. And when the shell is rotated more than 90 degrees, the power should increase again, but the current and voltage are in the opposite direction.

In laboratory experiments, which are carefully controlled, this is exactly that the researcher team is fully obav. “This small demonstration system produces a continuous DC voltage and the current (low) envisaged magnitude, C said Chyba and his colleagues.

On the contrary, a similar -sized solid cylinder did not show a measurable voltage in any direction.

Critically, the team was controlled for various mixing effects such as thermoelectric voltages caused by temperature gradients and external electromagnetic parasites. They performed the experiment in a nearby settlement in the laboratories where conditions could be carefully controlled and the conditions were less easily controlled. The result was the same in both test sets – the installation produced a small amount of power extracted from the return of the Earth throughout its field.

This is an interesting work with important results. Although the power output is small, scaling this technology can lead to special power production methods for remote detection installations.

Chyba and his colleagues say, even if the voltages that are far below those for housing power can be reached by using our effect, such devices may still have practical practices as “batteries olmayan that still do not require fuel and do not normally wear out.”

An interesting possibility to increase voltages is to miniaturize cylindrical shells and make their sequences connected in series. And in the scenarios with more relative speeds in the magnetic field – such as satellites in the orbit of the Earth – important power production can be reached.

Power scaling

Chyba and his colleagues point out that production will inevitably slow down the world’s rotation rate, but the effect will be small. “Even in an extreme scenario that our civilization will take all the electrical energy from the effect described here, the rotation of the Earth will slow down in a decade.

Compared, the length of the World Day naturally fluctuates several milliseconds in ten years. “The Earth despises due to the change of angular momentum with the Moon, and now extends the World Day 2.5 milliseconds in the century,” they say.

However, first, the other groups will need to verify the effect elsewhere. Chyba and Co. “The next step is that an independent group reproduces our results (or contradiction), or he says.

If they succeed, it is not difficult to imagine the commercialization of this technology in the not too distant future.
