To host the IPL 2025 Final for Sourav Ganguly Bats

The BCCI has not yet concluded the place for the IPL 2025 final.
As uncertainty looms over the venue for the IPL 2025 final, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has voiced strong support for Kolkata’s Eden Gardens to retain hosting rights. The iconic stadium was originally scheduled to stage the final on May 25, but with the tournament extended due to the India-Pakistan conflict, the summit clash is now set for June 3.

IPL 2025 Final: Ganguly eases Kolkata fans
Ganguly, also the former chief of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), downplayed speculation over a venue shift. “Eto sohoje sore jawa jay? (Is it that easy to shift the final?) It’s Eden’s playoffs, and I’m sure everything will be sorted. I’m very hopeful,” he said on Saturday, as per the Telegraph Calcutta. He also confirmed that CAB is in talks with the BCCI and highlighted, “BCCI has a very good relationship with the Cricket Association of Bengal.“
Interestingly, many fans even protested outside the Eden Gardens in an attempt to force the BCCI to not to change the IPL 2025 final venue.
Weather to take IPL final out of Kolkata?
The BCCI is reportedly considering moving the final to Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, with weather forecasts predicting around a 65% chance of rain in Kolkata on June 3. While no official decision has been made, CAB has submitted IMD data suggesting favourable weather conditions. However, the BCCI is hesitant to rely on long-term forecasts and is expected to wait until closer to May 25 before making a final call.
