Florida rewards Todd Golden, a national championship with a contract extension that will pay $ 40.5 million in the 2030-31 season.

39-year-old Golden was the youngest coach who won the championship since 37-year-old Jim Valvano when he beat Houston 65-63 in the NCAA Tournament on April 7th. Florida has a record of 76-33 in three seasons, including 36-4 in 2024-25.

“Todd, Florida has done an amazing job to return Men's basketball to where it belongs,” athletic director Scott Stricklin said. He said. “We believed in his vision, competitive nature and his modern approach to the game in 2022, and he confirmed this belief to a relatively short time and helped create a lifetime memories for another generation Gator fans.”

GatiS won the third national title of the program in his sixth trips. The other two championships came to Billy Donovan in 2006 and 2007.

“The University of Florida is an institution with resources, support and people to compete and win national championships.” He said. “I am very grateful for every player and staff who are critical for our success here.”
