Vaibhav Syriavanshi was mentally ready for the big stage, RR coach explains

Only 14 -year -old Vaibhav Syriavanshi made his history of IPL with a fearless output and gained high praise from players, coaches and cricket experts.
Rajasthan Royals’ assistant coach Sairaj Bahutule shared his thoughts on 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s historic debut during the match against Lucknow Super Giants. The young talent impressed everyone with his fearless show, scoring 34 runs off 20 balls. Bahutule explained that Suryavanshi had already shown his talent in practice sessions, which earned him his debut cap.
Vaibhav’s impressive debut
There was a lot of excitement and hype surrounding Vaibhav Suryavanshi as he became the youngest-ever player to play in the IPL. In his debut match, he made a strong impression by hitting a six on his very first ball, driving the crowd in Jaipur wild with enthusiasm. At the post-match press conference, Bahutule spoke about Suryavanshi’s debut, saying, “It was important to give him the chance (to debut) when the opportunity came up. He had been batting well in the nets, his preparation was good, and obviously, we missed Sanju. He made good use of the opportunity.”
Will Vaibhav play more matches?
Bahutule praised the young player’s mindset and playing style, stating, “I just feel he’s a great kid with a really good head on his shoulders. He’s courageous and brave—you could see that in his approach. Even at that age, he’s very dominating. He wants to play his shots and doesn’t really worry about who he’s facing. His theory is simple: watch the ball and hit the ball.”
Suryavanshi steps up on big occasion
Head coach Rahul Dravid had previously indicated that Suryavanshi wouldn’t be rushed into the spotlight. However, an injury to skipper Sanju Samson during a match against Delhi Capitals opened the door for his debut. In the game, Suryavanshi opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal and contributed to a solid 85-run partnership. Unfortunately, he was stumped by Rishabh Pant off Aiden Markram’s delivery, ending his promising innings at 34 runs.
