Colorado Avalanche star Advable Nathan Mackinnon will sit against Vancouver Canucks in Denver on Thursday, and probably the team’s last two normal season match to boot.

Mackinnon, breastfeeding an unexplained injury, is linked to Tampa Bay Lightning Nikita Kucherov in Art Ross Trophy race with 116 points.

Mackinnon, the reign of Hart Trophy, leads NHL with 84 assists in 79 games this season.

Avalanche (48-27-4, 100 points) will probably be third in the central section. In the first round of the playoffs, they will face Dallas Stars or Winnipeg Jets.

29 -year -old Mackinnon played 82 matches for avalanche last season and set career peaks on the board with 51 goals, 89 assists and 140 points.
