Ever since the news of Virat Kohli’s Test retirement has come out, all the top players in the world just don’t want it to happen. And joining the bandwagon is West Indies great, Brian Lara. In fact, the latter is hopeful that he would average 60 from now on.

Lara wrote, “Test cricket needs Virat!! He is going to be persuaded. He is NOT going to retire from Test cricket. He is going to average above 60 for the remainder of his Test career.” Meanwhile, it is widely reported that a senior BCCI official spoke t Virat Kohli, regarding his decision to quit the format.

Having said that, the 36-year-old Indian was poor in the India vs Australia Test series, where except for his ton at Perth, he failed to score big runs. What was even more concerning is, he kept getting out the same way — brining his weakness outside the off stump, to the fore.
