Stuck with a Tesla: My dream was a living nightmare | Tesla driver

AOur children left the house, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves and buy a new car for a driving holiday in Europe. For years, we had been driving a family vehicle car, loading it with children, and going to the universities, but we wanted something for ourselves.
As a surprise, he reserved a test drive for Tesla Model S for my birthday. It was different from the cars I had before. “Wow, this is great, ım I thought. I felt like the future: a computer on the wheels that are constantly updated with new features. Now I can’t say that I feel like that – and many people seem to share this view. Tesla sales figures decreased by 13% in the first few months of this year. Others feel even more restless: more than 200 demonstrations took place other than the company facilities around the world to protest against Elon Musk and the federal government last weekend.
I had no complaints about the car itself: it was quiet. It was big. And more importantly, it is environmentally friendly as an electric vehicle. Some people go to the sports car when they won a new sense of freedom in later life, but I did some research and wanted to get away from diesel and gasoline.
Despite the people who expressed their concerns about the lack of infrastructure, I saw Tesla’s network was great. We drove all Europe – for a year, Switzerland, Italy and last summer to the south of France. At one point, after an airport is turning, we even packaged five adults and all the suitcases.
I would think of myself as a left curved, but it was not a great political expression for us to buy an electric car at that time, rather an adoption of how things would be in the future. I didn’t know how our election would be politicized for six years.
In the first years of having a car, a neighbor’s “What is it like to have a car built by a madman?” I remember what you said. But I brushed it. I watched Musk videos at Tesla events and looked like a poor man’s Steve jobs. Like the Apple CEO, I saw Musk as a pioneer rather than a designer and I didn’t realize much of the business owner.
It was impossible to ignore him soon. My wife and me, the US president and later in Germany for the far -right AFD Donald Trump approved and Tommy Robinson with the support to the public as we were horrified. A man who would defend electric vehicles would have such reactionary views.
I started to notice a change in the group of Tesla owners on Facebook. The group, which had never had an electric car before, was a useful resource. People are very useful and even recommended to stop during our European holiday. When Musk’s politics began to grow more extreme, members began to report that they no longer feel comfortable to have a Tesla. And then others would answer: ““ We are not interested in your policy. ”I saw that he called the Guardian and even called BBC“ BBC Stalin ,, which was funny for me, because I always felt personally going very far.
I started to think about having a Tesla and was my daughter who did the case to sell. However, according to people who broadcast second hand cars in the Facebook group, prices are falling. I feel stuck. I recently put a bike to meet a friend and took a look at my bike and said, “Probably now more valuable than your Tesla.” Someone else told me he was interested in buying a Tesla, but he would wait until he was almost worthless.
A shame as there is an excellent match for our car lifestyle. It is cheap to work, easy to serve and Tesla has a mobile repair service that sends a “guard” to your home to solve any problem.
If I was buying a car from scratch, I would boycott the company, but we’re in our place. I will have to hold him for now. Next time, maybe I will buy a European electric vehicle. Who knew it was so hard to have a car?
