Wankhede Stadium: The sense of having a stand called Rohit Sharma

On Friday, an emotional Indian captain Rohit Sharma remembered his journey, called “unrealistic emotion ,, bearing the name of the iconic place to capture a look at Mumbai Ranji Cup stars outside the Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced that it was recently called a stand with India’s test and ODI Captain Rohit’s former captain Ajit Wadekar and former BCCI President and ICC President Sharad Pawar. After the third edition of the T20 Mumbai League was announced as a brand ambassador, Rohit said, “No one starts to play crickets,” he said.
Then he made a journey in time, he remembered that he was a starring player who jostled to watch the stars of the years.
Orum I still remember the days when I stand outside at Wankhede Stadium to enter and watch the practice of Mumbai Ranji Trophy Team, I’m talking about 2004 or maybe 2003.
“We would finish our U-14, U-16 training in Azad Maidan.
“I know how difficult it was to enter the Wankhede Stadium then. Even now, no random (people) will be allowed in the stadium… But these were the days.” The third level of the Divecha pavilion in Wankhede Stadium will be called Rohit, who took India to win the T20 World Cup 2024 and champions Trophy 2025.
“Now, it is an unrealistic feeling that it will be a stadium stand in my name and that there will be a stadium stand in my name.
“As I said, when you start playing the game, you don’t know how long you will play the game, all these milestones and successes you have accomplished.
“But to get such an honor, to have a booth after you, is something I can’t even imagine.
“Entering the stadium and now a stand – these two moments have happened between these two moments. So I am grateful to forever,” he added.
Rohit said that although players from all over the country are professional, Mumbai Kriket’s culture, history and heritage made it different.
“If you look at the Indian team in the 1970s and 80s, there were eight or nine jackers representing India from Mumbai. This is just pure talent,” he said.
“Every cricket player in India is quite professional.
“When you grow up, you know that you are entering something that will not be so easy to be a part of Mumbai Kriket, so if you are best, give it better, give everything you have better because there is no easy way to get there,” he said.
Rohit, Mumbai 42 times recorded in Ranji Trophy, which they have gained records to refer to the sovereignty of “not everyone’s tea,” he said.
“When I was chosen for Mumbai (and) for the first time I entered the locker room, my legs were shaking.
“Amol Muzumdar, Wasim Jaffer, Nilesh Kulkarni, Saijaj Bahutule, Ramesh Powar had many cricket players like… All these men were sitting there,” he remembered.
“Where should I sit? Will I take a place? Will I take a place? However, Rohit said that senior professionals made you feel that they are confronted with the dressing room.
Orum I remember that there were a few older men a little older. They took me in, they made me comfortable.
“Mumbai won 42 championships. I think the next best is a place around 7 or 8. So you can see the difference.” PTI DDV Ung
