Cricket West Indian Islands called on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to give the Caribbean nations the chance to participate in 2028 Los Angeles games and give the region a chance to avoid the “closure of history”. “All we ask is that the extraordinary Olympic heritage of our individual nations is taken into account in the speech,” CWI General Manager Chris Dehring said on Thursday. He said.

The CWI seems that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) seems to accept that a Western Indian Islands team did not allow their women to compete in LA 2028 when their women received the equivalent female global title despite the fact that men are T20 world champions in 2012 and 2016.
However, in a letter to ICC, the CWI proposed two possible ways for regional representation.
First, the West Indian Islands would see an inter -Caribbean qualifying tournament if men or women found themselves in elimination position, if the winner allowed the region to replace the region.
Secondly, a special regional process will take place, including each of the West Indians independent nations.
“The Caribbean has always appeared on its weight in the Olympics and inspired the world with our athletic brightness.
“The return of Crick to the games in 2028 should not exclude our young jigsers from the same dream that inspires our athletes.”
