The T20 Mumbai League 2025 auction is set to take place today, May 7, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This marks the third season of the tournament, featuring eight teams competing for top domestic talent. The auction will begin at 9:30 AM IST, and fans can watch it live on Star Sports or stream it on the official YouTube channel of the T20 Mumbai League.
Auction Format & Player Categories
A total of 280 players will go under the hammer, divided into three categories:
- Senior Players – Those who have played First-Class, List A, or T20 matches.
- Emerging Players – Cricketers who have represented Mumbai at the U-23 or U-19 level in the past three years.
- Development Players – Talented local and club-level players.
The base prices are set at ₹5 lakh for Senior Players, ₹3 lakh for Emerging Players, and ₹2 lakh for Development Players. Each team must include four senior players, at least five emerging players, and five development players in their final squad of 18 members.

Among the most sought-after players in the auction are Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Tanush Kotian, and Musheer Khan, all of whom have impressed in domestic and IPL matches. Teams have already signed icon players at a fixed price of ₹20 lakh, including Suryakumar Yadav (Triumph Knights), Ajinkya Rahane (Bandra Blasters), Shreyas Iyer (SoBo Falcons), and Prithvi Shaw (North Mumbai Panthers).
Budget & Team Strategy
Each team has a purse of ₹1 crore, with a minimum spend requirement of ₹80 lakh. Additionally, teams must buy at least two players born on or after September 1, 2005, ensuring young talent gets a chance to shine.
