Virat Kohli continues to write new records during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Star Royal Challengers Bengaluru dough added another feather to his unrelated IPL career. Kohli, the only player in the history of IPL and passing 8000 running signs, was the first player to reach 1000 borders in the tournament. Meanwhile, in IPL, Chennai Super Kings received a serious blow on Thursday, because regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad went out of the season due to elbow injury, which brought Mahandra Singh Dhoni back in the leading role. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed the development.
Fleming told Mediapersons before the match against the KKR on Friday, “A non -covered player, Dhoni, who will take over as a captain for the rest of IPL.”
Dhoni had previously seized the CSK from 2008 to 2023 and won five IPL titles. Before the 2024 season, he delivered his captain to Gaikwad.
Gaikwad continued the coup on March 30 when he was shot by a short ball from Jofra Archer, and since then he played two games.
