Shubman Gill is officially the new Indian Cricket Team Test Captain. At a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarar announced that India’s squad for the five test series that began on June 20th. While Shubman Gill did not have already experienced the leadership of the test side, the chosen squad, Jasprit Bumrah and Kl Rahul – remained in the past. Gill also serves as an assistant captain in ODI and T20Is. He helped Rohit Sharma in February 2025 in the UAE’s Muzaffer Champions Cup campaign in India. Gill played 32 matches in the test jack and made 1,893 running, including five centuries.
