World Athletics approves the SWAB test to determine female sex
The world athletics said on Tuesday that an athlete approved the promotion of a cheek snap test to determine whether a biological woman is a biological woman.
Sebastian Coe, President of the International Athletics Federation, said the body’s decision to protect the female category is a “really important” way to protect the female category.
“It is important to do this, because it is important to do this, and especially recently, not only to talk about the integrity of women’s sport, but also about guaranteeing it,” Coe said at a press conference after the interior championships in Nanjing, China. He said.
“We think that this is a really important way to provide confidence and to maintain this absolute focus on the integrity of competition.”
World Athletics, the measure does not set a date for the promotion of the measure, “but this year is expected to be for the world championships in Tokyo,” he added.
Coe said that the decision to introduce the SWAB test was taken after a wide consultation on the offer.
“Extremely, this was definitely the way to go,” although the SWAB test added that it was not considered to be overly interventive.
He added that politics is sure that he can withstand legal difficulties, but he added: “You accept that the world we live in.
“If I was something other than preparation for challenge, I would never have started this way to protect the category of women in the sport.
“We went to the Arbitration Court about our DSD (gender development difference) regulations.
“They were approved and supported again after the appeal. So we will protect the female category in a way that fucks and we will do everything necessary to do it.”
Coe announced the policy a week after he finished third in the race to become the new president of the International Olympic Committee won by Zimbabve’s former Olympic swim Kirsty Coventry.
